A
Biography of Art Hagan Cowboy Rancher --- Country Music Singer and Songwriter |
| I
was born and raised among the lakes, rivers and snow capped
mountains at the historical old town of Hazelton in the northwest
central
part of beautiful British Columbia, Canada. My Dad had
a small ranch and logging camp there. I moved to Alberta when I
was in my 20's,
where I ran the rodeo circuit and worked on ranches for
a living. I married and had two children. My kids are both very
interested
and involved with horses and cattle. After I managed a
community pasture for 19 years, I left the cattle ranges for a year
in the
summer season of '98 to drive a horse drawn carriage for
Warner Guiding and Outfitting in the heart of the Canadian Rockies
at Banff,
Alberta, Canada. It was a very rewarding and interesting
experience, driving along the beautiful Bow River in Banff
National Park.
Currently, I continue to work on my music and ride the range in addition to working on a couple new projects. I enjoy cowboy poetry and attend a couple gatherings each year, reciting my stories and catching up with old friends. I am also writing an autobiographical book depicting the stories and experiences of my life working and tending cattle on horseback, much of it in remote wide-open spaces - the traditional way. I'm finding out that authoring is not as easy as I thought it would be, but I do like the challenge. |
